Norgram paints a completely new D2C brand with Notes

The process of buying paint was ripe for innovation. Startups promise a smoother consumer experience than the usual way, visiting a paint shop. One of these brands is Notes, a new brand built on top of an old company.

Flügger was founded in 1783. Today, it is a market leader in Denmark and a big international player with factories in 8 markets. In partnership with Rainmaking, a venture studio, Flügger has launched Notes, a direct-to-consumer brand. Danish design studio Norgram helped out with conceptualising, naming, visual identity and launch of the e-commerce platform.

Colour at the center stage

The design direction for Notes is neutral yet dynamic. Norgram says, “Everything from the transparent packaging to the use of large imagery and sampling papers, Notes is putting color at the center stage and delivering a brand that is inspirational – far from the utilitarian approach of traditional retail stores and the endless pages of HEX codes.”

“Notes is new take on paint, design and distribution. And it all starts with the pack: No more tin cans or plastic bins. Way more ease. Far less waste.”
