In the densely populated global hair care industry, Swedish haircare brand REF confronted the challenge of carving out a distinct space amidst dominant FMCG players. Anchoring on their heritage of simplicity, quality, and consciousness, REF aimed to weave a unique brand identity.

Weaving Simplicity into Design

Swedish design agency Kurppa Hosk took on the challenge and crafted an identity combining minimalist elements with functionality. The streamlined wordmark, slim typography, and subtle, earthy colours reflect a deliberate focus on simplicity.

More than an aesthetic choice, the colour system offers a clear guide through REF’s diverse product categories, making the consumer journey less tangled. In sync with the packaging redesign, REF’s digital presence underwent a sprucing up, resulting in a new website and collateral that echo the same simplicity.
